Power Hopper Launches a Free, Simple Way to Shop for Electricity in Texas Deregulated Areas

Power Hopper (BJW Ventures LLC d/b/a Power Hopper) today announced the launch of a free, simple way to shop for electricity in Texas deregulated (retail choice) areas. The service is built for homes and businesses that want to compare electricity plans without sorting through confusing offers on their own.

Texas has a competitive retail electricity market, which means many households and businesses can choose their electricity provider and plan. Power Hopper helps people in those areas shop for a plan in plain English at https://powerhopper.energy.

Power Hopper is aimed at retail choice areas that include Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Corpus Christi, the Rio Grande Valley, the Permian Basin and Central Texas. Not every Texas address can choose its provider. Areas served by municipal utilities and most electric cooperatives are not part of retail choice.

"Our mission is to make shopping for electricity as simple as possible; we yearn to be the simplest way to shop for electricity," said Brent Ward, founder of Power Hopper.

Power Hopper is a Registered Electricity Broker with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), registration number BR260201. PUCT registration is not an endorsement of Power Hopper by the PUCT. Customers do not pay Power Hopper to use the service. Electricity providers may pay Power Hopper a commission if a customer signs up through the site, and those commissions do not affect how plans are ranked.

The company's mascot, Hopper, is the face of the brand, and its slogan is "Hop to a better rate."

How it works: visit the Power Hopper website, check the plans available for your address, and choose whether to hop to a new plan or stay where you are. Enrollment is completed with the electricity provider.
